Raipur, March 10, 2025: In a significant development, Chhattisgarh BJP today issued show cause notice to Commerce, Industry and Labour Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan asking him to explain within 48 hours why he was involved in act of indiscipline.
In fact Minister Dewangan had congratulated a rebel BJP candidate Nutan Singh Rajput, on being elected as the President of the Korba Municipal Corporation when BJP had fielded Hitanand Agrawal as the official candidate.
Congratulating Rajput the Minister had stated that all the BJP word members had voted unanimously for Nutan Singh Rajput.
“Since all had decided to vote for Nutan Singh we accepted that result and I am congratulating Nutan Singh for being elected as the BJP candidate,” he said.
Taking this statement before media seriously, the BJP state President Kiran Singh Deo has asked Minister Dewangan to submit his reply within 48 hours about his controversial statement.
“Your statement regarding the Korba Municipal President Election is amounting to breach of discipline. Hence you are directed to submit your version within 48 hours,” the show cause notice signed by State General Secretary and Headquarters in-charge Jagdeesh Ramu Rohra said.
This is the first such occasion in the last couple of years when a Minister is issued show cause notice by the BJP for his act of indiscipline.
