Bilaspur, May 12, 2025: Even after giving it to Civil Supply Corporation (NAN) and Food Corporation fo India (FCI), 1100 stacks of paddy were left in Bilaspur district.
Out of this 400 stacks of paddy have been lifted in the first phase of auction and now about 700 stacks of paddy are lying in various procurement centers of Bilaspur district.

Bilaspur District Collector Sanjay Agarwal today took a meeting of rice millers of the district and directed the mill owners to participate in the auction process of the remaining paddy.
Official sources said that the state government is auctioning the remaining paddy by fixing the sale rate. The first phase of the auction has been completed. The second phase is scheduled for tomorrow, 13 May.
It is worth noting that after giving it to NAN and FCI, 1100 stacks of paddy were left in the district. 400 stacks of paddy have been lifted in the first phase of auction. Now about 700 stacks of paddy are left in various procurement centers.
The District Collector today directed the rice millers to lift these stacks by price matching. The state government has fixed the sale rate of coarse rice at Rs 1900 per quintal for old sack and Rs 1950 per quintal for new sack. The rate of fine rice has been fixed at Rs 2050 per quintal for old sack and Rs 2100 per quintal for new sack.
There are a total of 176 rice mills in Bilaspur district. These include 155 Arwa mills and 21 Usna rice mills.
After the problem of porters was raised in the meeting the DMO was directed to resolve it.
The collector also noted other problems reported by the rice millers and assured for proper solution.
He directed to complete the lifting of the allotted stack within 15 days.
Food Controller Anurag Bhadoria, DMO Shambhunath Gupta, NAN Manager Sanjay Tiwari, all food inspectors including officials and members of Rice Mill Association were present in the meeting.
