Raipur, June 04, 2025: The change of name of Damakheda was approved today in the cabinet meeting held at the Secretariat here today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai.
As per the announcement of the Chief Minister Sai, it was approved in the meeting of the Council of Ministers, to change the name of Gram Panchayat Damakheda as “Kabir Dharmanagar Damakheda,” Officials said.

Chief Minister Sai had announced to name Damakheda as Kabir Dharmanagar Damakheda while attending the Sant Samagam Ceremony “Manghimela” organised at Damakheda under Simga Tehsil of Balodabazar-Bhatapara district on 23 February 2024.
Accordingly, the Cabinet approved the name of Gram Panchayat Damakheda as “Kabir Dharmanagar Damakheda”.
Along with this, the Cabinet also decided to change the name of Gram Panchayat Gadahabhatha of Kawardha Tehsil of Kawardha district to Gram Panchayat Sonpur and Gram Panchayat Chandalpur of Bodla Tehsil to Gram Panchayat Chandanpur.
