Raipur, June 05, 2025: Taking a big step towards shaping the future in sports for the youth of Chhattisgarh, the proposal to establish a national level archery academy in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar was approved in the cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai.
Describing yesterday’s decision as historic, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that this is not just the beginning of a building or institution, but a golden opportunity for the youth of Chhattisgarh.

“We do not have a shortage of talent, the need is to give them the right training and opportunities,” he said.
Institutions like the National Archery Academy will provide international level facilities and guidance to the players of the state. This academy will not only create an identity for Chhattisgarh in the field of sports, but the players coming out from here will also increase the pride of the country.
This academy will be one of the best sports institutions in the country, which will have training centers equipped with modern facilities and residential facilities for the players.
This archery academy will be established with the cooperation of NTPC. The proposed academy will include world-class facilities like outdoor archery range, AC-equipped indoor range, high performance centre, hostel for players, and residential complex for directors and staff.
This will be the first time in Chhattisgarh when such a large structure will be constructed for a traditional and technical sport like archery. This will also provide a platform to the archery talents hidden in the tribal areas and the state will move towards a new identity in the field of sports.
For the establishment of the National Archery Academy, 13.47 acres of land located in Sector-03, Village Parsada, Naya Raipur will be given free of cost to the Sports and Youth Welfare Department. The state government will reimburse Rs 39.22 crore including land premium, land rent and GST to the Naya Raipur Atal Nagar Development Authority.
The lease agreement will have to be executed and registered within three months of the land allotment order and it will be necessary to start the construction work within one year from the date of the contract and complete it within three years.
The responsibility of construction of the National Archery Academy will be of the Naya Raipur Atal Nagar Development Authority as the implementing agency. Therefore, necessary budgetary provisions will be ensured by the state government.
