Raipur, September 06, 2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today said that a Medicity with a capacity of 5,000 beds is being constructed in Nava Raipur. Also, the state government is continuously increasing the health budget and opening new medical colleges.
Sai said that the health of three crore people of the state is the top priority of the state government. He assured that financial resources will never become a hindrance in providing health facilities to the people of the state.

Chief Minister Sai was addressing a function after inaugurating the two-day event of ‘AROCON 2025’ Chhattisgarh-Madhya Pradesh Chapter in the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Auditorium in the capital Raipur.
On this occasion, he announced the construction of new hostels for the students of Medical College Raipur at a cost of Rs 65 crore.
The Chief Minister said that thousands of patients suffering from serious diseases like cancer are getting lifeline today due to the hard work of specialist doctors and the latest medical methods.

He said that research in the field of early detection and treatment of cancer in the last two decades has raised new hopes for the future.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, cancer day-care centers are being established in every district and Chhattisgarh is also moving fast in this direction, Sai said.
Under the Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme, treatment of many patients has become possible in the state. Patients have got great relief due to the cheaper cancer medicines and equipment in GST, he said.

State-of-the-art equipment is being made available for cancer treatment in the state hospitals and today itself the robotic surgery system is being launched in AIIMS Raipur, which proves that government hospitals are leading in adopting the latest technology, Sai said.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is proving to be very useful in the detection of cancer and the state government is rapidly incorporating it in health services.
The Chief Minister said that the government is working on every option to expand health facilities in remote areas like Bastar and Sarguja.

He informed that new hospitals will be established in Sarguja, Dharamjaigarh and Bastar.
He expressed confidence that the AROCON 2025 symposium will prove to be a milestone in the prevention and treatment of cancer.
Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, while addressing the programme, said that in the seventh edition of AROCON 2025, experts from various fields related to cancer treatment have come together on one platform. This will open new dimensions in the treatment of this disease.
He said that Raipur Medical College Hospital (Mekahara) located in Raipur is the main treatment center not only for Chhattisgarh but also for patients from other states of Central India. In future, medical services will be further strengthened here through state-of-the-art technologies and machines.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that Medical College Raipur is the largest cancer center in the state, where modern facilities are being provided.
He informed that in the coming time, six physiotherapy colleges will be established in the state, super specialty hospitals will be started in Bastar and Sarguja, separate hospitals and naturopathy colleges will be opened for mental patients. 700 beds will be increased in Mekahara at a cost of Rs 232 crore and latest facilities like robotic surgery and IVF center will be made available.
On this occasion, MLA Purandar Mishra, Dean of Medical College Raipur Dr. Vivek Chaudhary, Vice Chancellor of Ayush University Prof. PK Patra, specialist doctors, students and dignitaries were present in large numbers.
