Raipur, September 13, 2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said today that in the last 20 months, his government has strengthened the health infrastructure of the state and has worked to provide health services to remote areas.
Along with the health of 3 crore people of the state, his government will realize the dream of developed Chhattisgarh, Sai said.
The Chief Minister was addressing the event after inaugurating the three-day Dental Conference 2025 organized in the capital Raipur today.

On this occasion, Sai observed the exhibition of useful equipment related to dentistry and dental care and also released the annual souvenir of the Dental Association.
He said that from the very first day of the formation of his government, they have given top priority to the health of the people of the state. Five new medical colleges have been approved in the state, as well as institutions like physiotherapy, nursing and mother-child hospital are being established.
Along with healthy Chhattisgarh, we are also talking about progress, he added.
Sai said that health services have expanded rapidly in the state. While there was only one medical college in the year 2000, today 15 medical colleges have been established. Patients and elderly are getting free treatment facility through Ayushman Bharat Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana. At the same time, cheap generic medicines are providing relief to the general public.
Referring to serious diseases like cancer, the Chief Minister said that cases of mouth cancer are increasing continuously due to paan masala, gutkha and tobacco. He said that dentists have an important role in taking care of teeth and giving a beautiful smile. He called upon the doctors to run a wide public awareness campaign in this direction.
He emotionally shared memories of his parliamentary tenure. He told that in 1999 when Atal Behari Vajpayee was the Prime Minister, at that time there was pressure of patients from all over the country on AIIMS Delhi. Then he had requested in Parliament that AIIMS should be established in Chhattisgarh as well. Fortunately, after the formation of the state on 1 November 2000, six states got the gift of AIIMS in the first installment and Chhattisgarh also achieved this historic feat.

The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has resolved to make India a developed nation by the year 2047. In this direction, the Chhattisgarh government has prepared the ‘Chhattisgarh Vision 2047’ document and has set the goal of taking the state forward by making 10 missions.
Sai said that at present the GSDP of the state is Rs 5 lakh crore, which is targeted to be increased to Rs 75 lakh crore by the year 2047. We are working in this direction with full dedication and commitment.
He said that Chhattisgarh is rich in mineral and forest wealth, hardworking farmers and diligent people are its real strength. Repeating the saying “Chhattisgarhiya sable badhiya”, he expressed confidence that the state will definitely achieve its goals by 2047.
Referring to GST reforms, the Chief Minister said that recently the slabs of GST have been unified into 5 and 18 per cent. This will benefit the trade and agriculture sector and business activities will be simplified. This reflects the vision of the Prime Minister, which will make India economically stronger.
Sai said “Human’s smile is the most precious and the role of dentists is very important in protecting and preserving it.”
He said that through this three-day conference, dentists will discuss in detail the diseases related to mouth and teeth and new possibilities will open up for their treatment.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that the Chief Minister is constantly reviewing health services and quality facilities are being provided to Naxal-affected and remote areas.
He informed that 20 specialist doctors have been appointed in Bastar and it is a proof of efforts that Chintagufa Health Center of Sukma district has received NQAS certificate.
The Health Minister said that with the approval of five new medical colleges in the state, now there will be a total of 15 medical colleges. Apart from this, a super specialty hospital in Bilaspur, 12 new nursing colleges and five physiotherapy colleges are being established.
Jaiswal said that mobile medical units are being started in the tribal dominated areas and bike ambulance service is being started for remote areas.
He said that Chhattisgarh has become the state providing the highest cashless treatment facility in the entire country.
Indian Dental Association Chhattisgarh President Dr. Arvind Kumar, former President Dr. Rajiv Singh, Conference Chairman Dr. Vaibhav Tiwari and a large number of dentists from across the country were present in the conference.
