Raipur, July 22, 2026: Chhattisgarh’s Balrampur-Ramanujganj district has achieved a remarkable feat by securing the first position in the state under the nationwide free Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination campaign.
According to the U-WIN progress report, Balrampur-Ramanujganj district has set a new state record by achieving 100 per cent coverage in the nationwide free HPV vaccination campaign, which is being conducted under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for public health.
This success was realised through the coordinated efforts of the Health Department, Women and Child Development Department, School Education Department, and field-level staff, driven by the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and the continuous monitoring and effective strategies of the district administration.
Officials stated that the vaccination of eligible adolescent girls was ensured by reaching out to remote and Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) areas.
Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Vijay Kumar Singh reported that the district had a target of vaccinating 8,785 adolescent girls, and 8,763 were successfully vaccinated. The 100 per cent achievement was attained through door-to-door outreach, special vaccination sessions, identification of eligible girls via schools and Anganwadi centers, and by addressing the concerns of parents.
Collector Chandan Sanjay Tripathy congratulated all the departments, Mitanins (community health volunteers), ANMs, Anganwadi workers, and the officials and staff associated with the campaign for this achievement, attributing it to teamwork, effective coordination, and public participation.
Collector Tripathy stated that the HPV vaccination drive is a significant initiative aimed at protecting adolescent girls against cervical cancer.
