Bemetara, September 13, 2026: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today called upon the people of the state to light a lamp in their homes on the evening of September 17, marking the completion of 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public life, to further strengthen the resolve for service, development, and public welfare.
Addressing a district-level ceremony in Bemetara to honour teachers and meritorious students, the Chief Minister stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is moving forward with the resolve to build a Developed India.
Sai remarked that Chhattisgarh would play a pivotal role in building a developed India, and the strong foundation of a developed Chhattisgarh would be laid through quality education, a skilled youth workforce, and empowered villages and cities.
On this occasion, Sai made two significant announcements for the development of Bemetara district. He announced the sanction of Rs 2 crore for the construction of a ‘Gaurav Path’ in Bemetara city and the construction of a new electricity sub-station in Gram Panchayat Tivariya.
The Chief Minister stated that the state government is continuously working to expand not only education but also roads, electricity, drinking water, and other basic amenities across the state. He noted that creating better infrastructure in cities and villages would accelerate the pace of development and make life more convenient for citizens.
At the ceremony, recognition was also given for remarkable work done in water conservation and improving groundwater levels under the “Mor Gaon Mor Pani” (My Village, My Water) mega-campaign. The Janpad Panchayats of Bemetara, Berla, and Nawagarh were specially honoured for their efforts in transitioning Bemetara district from the ‘critical zone’ towards the ‘semi-critical zone’ regarding groundwater status.
Describing water conservation as an issue linked to future generations, Sai emphasized that conserving every drop of water is our collective responsibility. He noted that significant changes become possible when public participation joins government efforts, and he commended the initiatives undertaken in the district regarding water conservation.
During the ceremony, the “Shikshak Smriti” magazine, published by enlightened citizens and social service organizations, was also released.
The Chief Minister stated that the state government is working with commitment towards the welfare of every section of society, including the poor, farmers, women, and the youth, alongside its focus on education. The dream of permanent housing for needy families is being realized through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The Mahtari Vandan Yojana has provided financial support to women. Meanwhile, the use of technology is making government services more transparent, simple, and citizen-centric, he added.
Sai mentioned that efforts are being made to bridge the gap between the administration and citizens through initiatives such as the Atal Monitoring Portal, Seva Setu, and the Chief Minister’s Helpline. The government’s goal is to ensure that the benefits of schemes and services reach the last person in line with ease and in a timely manner.
