Raipur, August 29, 2023: Chhattisgarh government has made it mandatory for registration of every farmer through biometric procedure for purchase of paddy and maize for minimum support price.
Since Chhattisgarh government has been giving top most priority to the paddy procurement process, from this 2023-24 Khariff season purchases will be made through the biometrics, official sources said.
The state government has made October 31 as the last date for registration of farmers for the purchases.
All district collectors have been issued instructions to speed up the biometric registration so that maximum number of farmers will take benefit of the paddy procurement policy, a state government official said.
The state government said for registration of farmers, one has to bring in land rights and loan book (rin pustika), B-1, Aadhar number and photocopy of bank passbook for registration at the primary cooperative societies.
For the beneficial of the farmers, state government has also made provision for a nominee of the farmer so that name of the nominee could also be included along with his Aadhar card for purchase of paddy.
