Raipur, December 31, 2024: BJP government of Chhattisgarh, led by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, so far, procured about 86.42 lakh tons of paddy from the farmers under the minimum support price.
The process of paddy procurement, which started on 14 November in the state, is continuing uninterrupted. So far, about 86.42 lakh tons of paddy has been procured.
In lieu of paddy procurement, Rs 19 thousand 415 crore has been paid to 17.50 lakh farmers under the bank linking system, official sources said today.
This paddy procurement campaign will run till 31 January 2025.
At the same time, the paddy procurement system is being continuously monitored by senior officials, they added.
Food department officials said that along with procurement, paddy is also being lifted rapidly by the millers. DO and TO have been issued for 58.35 lakh tons of paddy for paddy lifting, against which 32.57 lakh tons of paddy has been lifted so far.

Officials said that 27.78 lakh farmers have registered for this Kharif year. This includes 1.59 lakh new farmers.
This year 160 lakh metric tons of paddy purchase is estimated through 2739 procurement centers.
He said that today on 31 December 2024, 2.87 lakh tons of paddy has been purchased from 63,831 farmers. More than 84,702 tokens were issued for this. 74 thousand 761 tokens have been issued for the coming day, the sources added.
