     Raipur, 06 April 2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today said the state has received investment proposals of more than Rs 3 lakh crore in the energy sector.

     Addressing a function in the Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA) premises the Chief Minister said the state has received investment proposals of more than Rs 3 lakh crore in the energy sector.

     “This will bring revolutionary changes in the energy sector and we will be able to meet the future needs easily,” he said.

     After inaugurated and performed Bhoomi Puja of various development works worth more than Rs 50 crore in the field of renewable energy at the CREDA office complex in the capital Raipur the Chief Minister Addressing the event wished everyone on the auspicious festival of Ram Navami.

     He also inaugurated the solar powered battery swapping station and e-rickshaw converted from normal to solar energy.

     Important work has started in the field of renewable energy today. In view of the damage being caused to the environment by traditional fuel sources, the use of solar and renewable energy can bring about a big change, said Sai.

     Solar energy related schemes are being run in the state and is giving great benefits to the common people and farmers of the state. Along with this, the work of providing electricity through Niyad Nella Nar Yojana is being completed in the Naxal-affected areas and the villages of remote areas are being illuminated by it, he said.

     The solar powered e-rickshaw has been inaugurated today and this initiative will make the operation of e-rickshaw economical and will increase the income of e-rickshaw drivers, the Chief Minister said.

     Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that the whole world is adopting renewable energy for a clean environment. Now the use of fossil fuel will gradually decrease and in the coming time it will be replaced by renewable energy.

     Dr. Singh gave his best wishes for the inauguration and bhoomi pujan of works worth more than Rs 50 crore related to renewable energy and called it a big initiative towards clean energy.

     The works inaugurated include solar energy operated battery swapping station in Raipur at a cost of Rs 29 lakh, conversion of normal e-rickshaw into solar e-rickshaw and installation of 54 solar high masts, 152 solar dual pumps and 2 solar power plant under Niyad Nella Nar Yojana.

     Similarly, the works for which bhoomi pujan was done include installation of solar energy operated battery swapping station in Energy Education Parks of Bilaspur, Rajnandgaon and Jagdalpur, making all the Energy Education Parks of the state net zero, renovation of Energy Education Park Rajnandgaon.

     Also, in Balod district, as per the Chief Minister’s announcement, the installation of two solar high masts and one community biogas plant, in Baloda Bazar district, as per the Chief Minister’s announcement, the installation of 50 solar high mast plants in the tourist places of 23 villages, solar energization of sub-health centers under Korba district, installation of 500 kilowatt capacity on-grid solar power plant in Hirri dolomite mine, Bilaspur district, solar energization of ashrams/hostels under Korba district, the foundation stone was laid for the installation of 280 kilowatt capacity on-grid and 2.4 kilowatt capacity off-grid solar power plant in village Kunjara, Jashpur.

     CEO of the Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA) Rajesh Singh Rana said that the solar powered battery swapping station has been developed by CREDA for battery operated electric rickshaws as a pilot project. With the help of battery swapping, e-rickshaw drivers can replace discharged batteries with charged batteries at cheaper rates in less time. With this, e-rickshaw drivers will be able to cover more distance daily and their income will also increase.

     Similarly, solar panel based e-rickshaw has been developed by CREDA as an energy efficient e-rickshaw as compared to ordinary e-rickshaw. This provides relief to the rickshaw driver from the problem of frequent battery charging. Generally, rickshaw drivers are not able to cover more distance daily due to battery charging problem. This problem has been overcome to a great extent by CREDA by installing solar panels in e-rickshaws.

     Rana said that CREDA is making many efforts to provide basic facilities from solar energy in rural and urban areas, which includes works like installation of solar plants in ashram-hostels, health centers, energy Education Park, operation of community street lights from solar plants for street lighting, installation of solar high mast lights and installation of community biogas plants.

     On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, MLAs Motilal Sahu, Anuj Sharma, Sampat Aggarwal, Sunil Soni, newly appointed Chairman of CREDA Bhupendra Sawanni, Energy Department Secretary Dr. Rohit Yadav were present.
