     Raigarh, March 16, 2025: Chhattisgarh Finance Minister OP Choudhary today said that Chhattisgarh’s economy has picked up momentum under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai.

     In the first meeting and oath taking ceremony of the newly elected Chairman, Vice Chairman and members of Raigarh District Panchayat, Finance Minister Choudhary, as the chief guest, congratulated the newly elected public representatives and said “it is necessary to work as a team to live up to the trust the public has expressed in you”.

      He said that continuous efforts are being made to speed up development in Raigarh district.

     Choudhary represents Raigarh Segment in the Chhattisgarh Assembly as a first time MLA.

     Referring to the achievements of the state government, Minister Choudhary said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, an amount of Rs 1 lakh crore has been transferred to the farmers under various schemes in the last one and a quarter years.

      Choudhary said, recently Rs 12 thousand crore was given to the farmers as the difference amount of paddy purchase, which has accelerated the rural economy.

      Under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, 70 lakh women are being given assistance of Rs 1,000 per month, he said.

     Also, giving priority to construction of housing, the government has approved 18 lakh new houses, under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, whose construction work is progressing rapidly, the Finance Minister said.

     The state government has provided the facility of darshan of Ayodhya and Banaras through Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana. Recently, the devotees of the state were benefited by setting up Chhattisgarh Pavilion in Prayagraj Maha Kumbh, he added.

     Highlighting the development works of Raigarh, Choudhary said that the construction of Nalanda campus has started in the district at a cost of Rs 35 crore.

     The work of beautification of Itwari market, Oxygen Zone and Adarsh ​​Mandi is in progress. The roads of the city are being given a modern look.

     A budget of Rs 100 crore has been released for the construction of canals of the Kelo project, along with additional administrative approval of Rs 291 crore has also been provided.

     Other development works include expansion of Sapnai Dam, construction of Gharghoda-Raigarh and Kasdol-Raigarh roads, establishment of Physiotherapy College in Raigarh, Nursing College in Pusaur, Arts and Music College, Horticulture College, he added.

    On this occasion, newly elected District Panchayat Chairman Shikha Ravindra Gabel, Vice Chairman Deepak Sidar and all newly elected District Panchayat members took oath to discharge their responsibilities under the Panchayati Raj Acts.
