Raipur, March 17, 2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence in New Delhi and discussed in detail about complete rooting out of Maoists in the state and especially in Bastar, accelerating the development of Bastar and promoting tourism and economic activities.

Chief Minister Sai apprised Union Home Minister Shah that Naxalism is now in its last stage and the government is taking decisive steps to completely eradicate it.
The grip of Naxalite organizations has weakened due to the joint efforts of the state and the Center. Now emphasis is being laid on taking Bastar towards permanent peace by preparing the final phase strategy, Sai said.

He said that the government’s new Surrender and Rehabilitation Policy-2025 has started showing results. Recently, a total of 19 Naxalites, including 9 reward-carrying Maoists in Bijapur district, surrendered and decided to return to the mainstream.
Surrendered Naxalites are being given the benefit of economic assistance and rehabilitation schemes by the government, so that they can live a respectable life in the society, Sai said.
In the meeting, special attention was given to speeding up development work in Bastar.
The Chief Minister said that the government is strengthening basic facilities like education, health, roads, electricity and water in the area.
He said that skill development, self-employment and new employment opportunities are being created to connect the youth of Bastar with the mainstream. The government’s goal is that Bastar should not remain just a land of conflict but become a new center of peace, development and possibilities.
In the meeting, plans to promote tourism to get the rich cultural and natural beauty of Bastar recognized at the national and international level were also discussed in detail.
It is worth noting that Naxalism in Bastar has now reached its final stage. Due to the policies of the government and the effective strategy of the security forces, peace is returning to the Naxal-affected areas.
Now the government is making a strategy to completely eliminate Naxalism, accelerate the development of Bastar and promote tourism and economic activities in the area.
