Raipur, December 13, 2022: Following death of 4 infants in Ambikapur medical college hospital, the Chhattisgarh government today suspended one doctor and shifted the medical college hospital Superintendent.
After 4 infants were reported dead on December 5 last in Rajmata Devendra Kumari Singhdeo Medical College Hospital Ambikapur, the state government has suspended the Senior Resident and Child Specialist Dr Kamlesh Prasad Vishwakarma, official sources said today.
It was alleged that Dr Vishwakarma was not present during night duty and also had not taken any steps to start treatment of the infants, who were admitted in serious conditions.
Health Minister T S Singhdeo has also taken stern action against the Superintendent of the Hospital Dr Lakhan Singh and in his place Pathology Department HOD Dr R C Arya has been made the new Superintendent, they said.
