Raipur, February 14, 2025: Two Chhattisgarh government employees have been suspended for dereliction in election duty, while show cause notices have been issued to 118 officers and employees for adopting non-serious attitude towards the election works.

Raigarh Collector and District Election Officer Kartikeya Goel today said that two teachers of the district have been suspended for negligence in election work, while show cause notices have been issued to 118 officers and employees for being absent in election training.
Goel said that Kashmir Kujur of Middle School Ashram Tendumudi and Akhil Sharma of Primary Boys School, Hamalpara were appointed for election of Raigarh Municipal Corporation. But on February 10, both the teachers were found absent during the distribution of polling materials at KIT Raigarh campus.
Considering this as a serious negligence, they have been suspended with immediate effect under Chhattisgarh Civil Services Rules. Their headquarters have been fixed as the office of the Block Education Officer, Kharsia.
Deputy District Election Officer Ravi Rahi said that officers and employees of various departments were put on duty for the polling parties, for which training was conducted in several phases. Show cause notices have been issued to 118 officers and employees, who were absent from the training.
Collector Goel has said that any kind of negligence in election work will not be tolerated.
All officers and employees deployed in the election process have been instructed to compulsorily follow the prescribed rules, he added.
