Raipur, August 26, 2025: The police administration today made it clear that playing DJ will be completely banned in Ganeshotsav in Raipur of Chhattisgarh.
Raipur Additional SP Lakhan Patle said the DJ operators have to follow the instructions of NGT and High Court and said that playing DJ is completely banned in this Ganeshotsav. Sound amplifiers can be used within the prescribed limit and time.
A meeting of DJ operators was held today under the chairmanship of ADM Umashankar Bande and ASP Lakhan Patle on behalf of Raipur District and Police Administration for the peaceful organization of the upcoming Ganeshotsav. Officers of Raipur Municipal Corporation, Traffic and other related departments were also present on this occasion.
The administration said that DJ and sound amplifiers will be banned within a radius of 100 meters from hospitals, schools and public places. No NOC will be given for DJ operation. Also, sound amplifiers will be completely banned after 10 pm.
Challan action will also be taken on DJ vehicles from CCTV installed by the traffic police. If challan is issued again, action will be taken to confiscate the vehicle.
Raipur ASP Lakhan Patle said that general instructions to DJ operators like playing DJ by keeping soundboxes on vehicles, soundboxes and vehicles will be confiscated and action will be taken as per rules.
In case the organiser does not follow the instructions, it will be considered contempt of the High Court orders and noise pollution equipment, tent house, sound system will be confiscated from the provider.
Police, local administration and district administration will jointly keep constant vigil and if found causing noise pollution, action will be taken as per rules by the team.
The administration has instructed to use sound amplifying equipment within the prescribed limit (dB). Use it in industrial area at 75 in the morning and 70 at night, in commercial area at 65 in the morning and 55 at night, in residential area at 55 in the morning and 45 at night and in quiet area at 50 in the morning and 40 dB (A) at night.
Duringthe meeting ASP Traffic Prashant Shukla, CSP Daulat Ram Porte along with other departmental officers and DJ operators were present.
