Raipur, September 28, 2025: Jashpure, a brand from Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh, made a strong presence at World Food India 2025, held from September 25 to 28 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
Mahua and millet-based products, developed through the hard work and innovation of tribal women, have created a new identity for Chhattisgarh on national and international platforms.
There was a time when Mahua was used only for making liquor. Innovation in Chhattisgarh has now led to the production of many other nutritious food items from Mahua.

Mahua’s image is gradually changing.
The vision and initiative of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has transformed Mahua from liquor to nutrition and food.
Sai says that by combining traditional products like Mahua and Millets with modern science and innovation, we are empowering the rural economy and increasing Chhattisgarh’s contribution to the field of nutrition and health.

At World Food India 2025, the Mahua nectar exhibited by Jashpure received special recognition for its high nutritional value and its use as a natural sweetener in milk, sweets, and beverages.
Mahua-based Chyawanprash (without sugar, jaggery, and honey), Mahua tea, cookies, and energy snacks also attracted visitors. Products made from Jashpur’s traditional millet (kutki), kodo, and buckwheat, including more than 15 varieties of millet pasta, nutritious snacks, and bakery products, captivated visitors. These products proved that these grains are the superfoods of the future.

International delegates at the exhibition praised the hard work and innovation of Jashpur’s tribal women.
In particular, the Agriculture Minister and Agriculture Director of Eswatini tasted the Mahua nectar and praised its quality and nutritional value.

Jashpure is led by tribal women entrepreneurs from Jashpur, working under the Jai Jangal FPC. Through food-grade harvesting and scientific processing, they have transformed mahua and millets into modern superfoods. The Chhattisgarh government is continuously striving to promote rural products and empower the livelihoods of tribal women.
Jashpure’s impressive presence at World Food India 2025 is a testament to the fact that tradition, hard work, innovation, and the Chief Minister’s visionary thinking can bring global recognition to the rural economy and food culture of Chhattisgarh.

Jashpure has now become a symbol of moving mahua and millets from their alcohol identity to mainstream nutrition and food.
