Raipur, January 03, 2023: Ruling Congress today organising a massive rally in the capital city apparently to put pressure on Raj Bhawan for early passage of the Reservation Amendment Bill, which favoured 76 per cent reservation for SC, ST, OBC and economically weaker sections of the society.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will address the rally, which will boost the Congress workers as this year the state will go for assembly election.
“We are expecting over a lakh people in the rally,” prominent Congress leader Girish Dewangan told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com here.
The Jan Adhikar Rally is being organised in the Science College Ground here by the PCC.
Through this rally Congress will expose the anti-reservation mentality of the BJP, PCC Communication Department Chairman Sushil Anand Shukla said adding about 70 communities would participate in the rally supporting the move of the Bhupesh Baghel government to give 76 per cent reservation.
After the rally a delegation would go to the Raj Bhawan and hand over a memorandum for early approval of the bill.
Elaborate arrangements have been made both by the Congress party as well as the administration for the rally.
AICC In-Charge Kumari Selja, who is coming in the morning flight, would also participate in the rally along with the PCC President Mohan Markam and other senior leaders.
Before leaving for Delhi in the 8.15 PM flight Selja would also take a meeting of various organisational wings, committees and departments of the PCC, party sources said.
