Bargarh, April 16, 2025: A rogue elephant today killed one woman and seriously injured another in Odisha, neighbouring Chhattisgarh.
The incident took place in Turcha village of Gaisilet area of Padampur block in Bargarh district this morning, reports said.

The incident occurred when two women from the Turcha village went to collect mahua when they were attacked by the elephant.
One woman died on the spot, while the other was seriously injured and rushed to hospital, according to reports.
The Forest Department had earlier warned about the presence of the wild elephant in the area, but it seems the women were not aware of that, sources said.
