Raipur, May 21, 2025: Over 25 Maoists were today killed in a fierce encounter with the security forces in the Abujhmad forest area of Narayanpur district in Chhattisgarh, a top police officer said.
“Over 25 Maoists were killed in an encounter in Abujhmad forestry area,” Chief of Anti-Naxal Operations Vivekananda told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
On information of gathering of top Maoist leaders, police raided the jungle and in the encounter over 25 Maoists were killed, the Additional Director General of Police ranked officer said.
There were inputs of presence of top ranking Maoist leaders in the area, he said adding “Since the bodies have not yet been identified, it is not clear who were present or killed in the encounter”.
The incident took place in the forestry area of Narayanpur district in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh state.
Since forces are inside the forest, police was reluctant to give more details.
