Raipur, March 09, 2024: In a severe blow to Congress party in Chhattisgarh, a senior party leader and former MLA today resigned from the party just ahead of the Lok Sabha election.
Chunni Lal Sahu today resigned from the primary member of the Congress party with immediate effect.
Chunni Lal Sahu won the Assembly election as a Congress candidate from Akaltara seat of Janjgir-Champa district when the state was having a BJP wave in 2013 assembly election.
“I am resigning from the primary membership of the Congress party. Accept it,” former MLA Sahu in a letter to the PCC President Deepak Baij said.
He has not assigned any reason for his resignation.
But sources said he was not happy with the activities of the party and sidelining of many within the party.
