Raipur, November 18, 2025: Top most Maoist Commander of the banned organization CPI (Maoist) Madvi Hidma, who was having a reward of Rs one crore on his head, was killed today in an encounter with security forces in Andhra Pradesh, a top police officer said.
“Madvi Hidma, his wife Raje and four of his gunmen were killed in an encounter with police in Alluri Sitaram Raju district of Andhra Pradesh,” Andhra Pradesh Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) Mahesh Chandra Ladda told reporters at Rampachodavaran near the encounter site.
Andhra police has also arrested 9 security guards of Central Committee member Devji of the Maoist, who were trying to revive the Maoist movement in Andhra Pradesh, he said.
On specific intelligence of movement of Maoist from Chhattisgarh the forces were tracking them and in an exchange of fire in Maredumilli forest of Alluri Sitaram Raju district today morning all the six Maoists were killed, Ladda said.
“We have recovered all the six bodies, after the exchange of fire, including most dreaded Maoist commander Hidma, a central Committee member and the first Battalion commander, and his wife Raje, also a Maoist Commander” he said.
“Due to pressure in Chhattisgarh, they were planning to shift to Andhra Pradesh and the police was keeping a track of the movement of the Maoists,” he said.
“We have inputs that a few of the Maoist cadre had run away from the encounter site. Combing operation is on to nab them,” the ADG Intelligence said.
Two AK 47, one revolver, one pistol and other arms and ammunitions were recovered from the encounter site, the top police officer said.
In nearby districts of Vijayawada, Krishna, Kakinada, and other places also security forces have arrested 31 people, including 9 security guards of Central Committee member Devji of the Maoist, who were trying to revive the Maoist movement in Andhra Pradesh, he said.
Hidma is the most dreaded Maoist commander, who was leading the Battalion Number one of the People’s Liberation Guerilla Army (PLGA) of the Maoist, and was having a reward of Rs one crore on his head.
