Raipur, August 27, 2008: When the neighbouring Orissa was burning with the clash between Christians and Hindus, two Christian missionaries were sent to judicial custody today in Bastar district of Chhattisgarh for their alleged involvement in conversion, officials said.
Daniel Botham of Warrangal district of Andhra Pradesh and Budhsan Daniel of Nagarnar in Bastar district were arrested and sent to judicial custody today for allegedly trying to convert one Jeeten Yadav into Christian fold from his religion Hindu, Bastar District Superintendent of Police Praveer Kumar Das.
Both were arrested on report of Yadav of Keshkal town of Bastar district, he said adding both have been accused of allegedly involved in illegally trying to convert Yadav from Hindu to Christian.
After the report both were arrested and sent to judicial custody today, Das said.
Since the condition in the neighbouring Orissa was not good, Keshkal police was asked to take prompt action in that matter, top police officials said.
