Raipur, April 18, 2024: Two persons today died of suspected poisonous gas in a prominent restaurant of the capital city.
Raipur Police said they have received information of death of two persons at Ashoka Biryani under Telibandha Police station area.
Forensic team would be sent to the spot for a detailed inquiry, the officials said.
Sources said both the people had gone inside a gutter tank for cleaning and collapsed. With the help of other staff members they were rescued from the tank after some time and taken to hospital but could not survive them.
Meanwhile, media persons were manhandled allegedly by the restaurant staff when they said they had gone there for reporting.
Tense situation built up as both the staff and media persons were seen face to face led to intervention by the police.
Reporters on the spot complaint that they were pushed and attacked when they were covering the incident of the death of the two persons.
After a tense moment, police took some staff of the restaurant to the police station for questioning.
Police has not yet arrested any one in connection with either deaths or on attack to the journalists, sources said.
