Raipur, July 29, 2009: The main opposition Congress today attempted unsuccessfully to move an adjournment motion in the Chhattisgarh Assembly alleging huge irregularities in purchase of paddy by the state BJP government.
After taking up the naxal issues for several days, the Opposition had decided to grill the Raman Government on the paddy procurement issue and today 28 Congress MLAs attempted to move an adjournment motion.
Leader of Opposition Ravindra Choubey, Momd Akbar and others levelled several allegations of irregularities against the state government, while speaking on the acceptance of the motion.
However, the Food and Civil Supply Minister Punnu Lal Mohile tried to dismiss those allegations.
Finally not happy with the answer of the state government, the Opposition staged a walkout from the assembly. The house finally rejected the motion.
