Raipur, August 29, 2009: Chhattisgarh Government today said the sports men of the state would be given extra mark during their examination and also priority in government services.
The Sport talents of the state, who would participate in state, national or international games would be given bonus marks in their annual examination, School Education Minister Brij Mohan Agrawal said here today.
This bonus mark would inspire the students to participate more in games to lead a health life, Agrawal said adding Government was also taking steps to provide job to the sport talents of the state.
He said this while addressing a function to felicitate the sportsmen of the state in a function organized by the Sports Directorate here, in which Governor E S L Narasimhan and Sports Minister Lata Usendi were Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively.
The Governor said, about two years back he had urged Agrawal to formulate such policy to promote sports in the state and he was happy today that the government had adopted such a thing.
