Raipur, March 29, 2011: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today announced a ten per cent hike in the dearness allowance to the state government employees and the pensioners.
With today’s ten per cent increase, the total percentage of dearness allowance has gone up to 45.
This would burdened the state exchequer an extra Rs 330 crore, Singh told the state assembly, while replying to a debate on the appropriation bill for the budgeted allocation of Rs 32477.7680 crore for the next fiscal.
The Chief Minister also said the Local area development fund for MLAs would be increased from the current Rs 50 lakh to Rs one crore.
The MLAs would be insured of Rs 10 lakh against accident, where as pension for former MLAs would be increased to Rs 16,000 from the current Rs 10,000.
The medical allowance has been increased from Rs 1500 to Rs 2500 and vehicle allowance from the current Rs 5 per km to Rs 10 per km, he said.
The pension to the family of deceased MLAs has also been increased to Rs 8000 from the current Rs 5000.
