New Delhi, November 03, 2022: The Election Commission today declared the dates for the Gujarat Assembly polls and with immediate effect enforced the model code of conduct in the BJP ruled state.
In two phases Gujarat will go to poll on December 1 and 5, 2022, the Election Commission said today.
The counting of the votes will takes place on December 8, next, they said.
The notification for the election would be published on November 5 for the first phase and November 10 for the second phase. With that the process to file nomination would be started, which will continue till November 14 and 17 respectively.
Scrutiny of nominations will be held on November 15 and 18 respectively.
Last date for withdrawal of nominations will be November 17 and 21, respectively.
In two phases people from Gujarat will exercise their franchise on December 1 and 5, 2022, the Election Commission said.
The counting of the votes will takes place on December 8.
Besides ruling BJP, Congress and Aam Admi Party are also seen engaged in campaigning in the state.
