Raipur, October 19, 2011: Chhattisgarh government has decided to set up 1883 centres this year to procure paddy from the farmers in minimum support price.
From November 15, next, 1333 primary cooperative societies would procure paddy through 1883 procurement centres, officials told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com today.
Paddy would be procured from November 15 to February 15 next year, they said.
Similarly corn would be procured in minimum support price from November 15 to May 30, next year, they added.
The state government plans to procure 55 lakh tonnes paddy and ten lakh tonnes corn this season.
The state has declared a price of Rs 1080 for a quintal of common variety paddy and Rs 1110 for A-Grade paddy where as the MSP for Corn has been fixed at Rs 980 per quintal, the officials said.
