Arson in under construction cement factory in Durg dist

     Raipur, April 04, 2013: A major fire today broke out in J K Laxmi cement factory in Durg district.

     The under construction cement factory is located in Malpurikhurd of Durg district.

     Officials failed to confirm whether it was an act of sabotage, due to labour unrest or due to some other reasons.

     “It is a major fire and officials are looking into it,” the sources said.

     Locals have been on agitation against the plant demanding proper compensation and rehabilitation of the project affected people, including permanent employment to the people, whose lands have been acquired for the plant.
