Raipur, September 28, 2008: President Pratibha Patil arrived here today on a two-day tour of Chhattisgarh.
The President arrived here on a special Indian Air Force plane, who was received at the Air Port this afternoon by Governor E S L Narasimhan, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, their wives, a host of Ministers and officials, including Chief Secretary P Joy Oommen.
A party is also organised at Raj Bhawan, opened to only special invitees, in respect of the visitor, who had come to the state for the first time after becoming President.
Patil is scheduled to visit the famous waterfall Chitrakoot tomorrow morning.
She would also participate in the Golden Jubilee function of the Dudhadhari Bajrang Government Women’s College at Raipur after which she would return back to New Delhi, officials said.
