Raipur, January 14, 2012: Chhattisgarh government today cancelled its scheduled Suraj Campaign in the urban areas of the state.
Suraj was one of the most ambitious campaigns of the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh as he believed the Gram Suraj Abhiyan helped the government in defeating the anti-incumbency factor.
So the state BJP government planned such a campaign in urban area.
″The Nagar Suraj Abhiyan has been cancelled till further order,″ officials said here.
The Suraj campaign in urban area was scheduled from January 16 to 22, but that has been cancelled till further order, they said.
Officially it was stated that the inaugural function of nine new districts were currently under progress from January 11 to 25, because of which the Suraj campaign in urban area was put on hold.
