Raipur, April 10, 2012: Chhattisgarh Home Minister Nanki Ram Kanwar today demanded a high level probe against the Korba District Collector Rajpal Singh Tyagi.
The Home Minister has written a letter to the Chief Secretary Sunil Kumar drawing his attention to the alleged violation of the Section 3, 4 and 5 of the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) in Korba district.
“There should be a high level detailed investigation on the SDRF allocation for the 2011-12 and ensure its proper utilisation,” Kanwar said in his semi government letter No 315 Dt 10-04-2012.
As per the Section 3 of the Official memorandum No 32-3/2010-NDM-1 Dt September 28, 2010 on SDRF, the fund should be used for meeting the expenditure for providing immediate relief to the victims of cyclone, drought, earthquake, fire, flood, tsunami, hailstorm, landslide, avalanche, cloud burst and pest attack.
Meanwhile, the Korba District Collector has dismissed the allegation of irregularities.
However, the Home Minister has alleged that the Government direction was “openly violated” and money were spent in those villages, which were not affected by heavy rainfall or flood and even allotment had allegedly been made by the District Collector vide letter No 3236/12 Dt 22-03-2012 from the fund for normal construction works.
Kanwar challenged the allotment of funds and demanded a “high level detailed probe” into the allotment.
When contacted Korba District Collector Rajpal Singh Tyagi told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com that the district administration has not committed any irregularities in allotment of funds.
“We have strictly implemented the works,” Tyagi said.
Welcoming the demand of a probe by Kanwar, he said “Any Secretary level probe will clear the things that there was no wrong doings.”
Senior legislator Kanwar represents the Rampur segment of Korba District.
