Raipur, October 21, 2008: Both the main political parties BJP and Congress are trying to get prominent journalists in to their list of candidates for the November 2008 election.
Ruling BJP has been urging Nai Duniya Editor Ravi Bhoi to contest the coming election as a saffron party candidate.
On the other hand Congress is in touch with former Editor of Nava Bharat Anal Shukla for increasing their party tally in the electoral war.
Bhoi was last time also requested by the BJP to contest from Mahasamund district but he refused, party sources said adding efforts are on this time also to rope in him, who is having an image of an independent journalist.
On the other hand Congress sources said many party leaders are in touch with Anal Shukla to impress upon him to contest from any of the Raipur seats.
Meanwhile, BJP is all set to deny ticket another journalist Leelaram Bhojwani in this election.
Former Minister Bhojwani, a prominent journalist of the previous years, had been contesting as a BJP candidate from Rajnandgaon but this time in the new equation Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh would contest from that seat, party insiders said.
However, BJP always keep the journalists happy and Bhojwani would also be well taken care of in case he is not contesting the coming election, they said.
