Bilaspur, November 5, 2008: South East Central Railway today said it had achieved a new height in freight loading, besides highest record in coal loading in Chhattisgarh and Orissa region also.
Total originating loading of SECR in October 2008 has been 11.35 million tonnes of freight which is about one million tonnes more than the last year, an SECR spokesman told the ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
With that, SECR has carried so far 74.70 million tonnes of freight between April to October 2008 which is 6.13 million tonnes more during the corresponding period of the last year, he said adding the SECR has been given the target of 133.5 million tonnes of freight loading in the current fiscal.
SECR has achieved an average loading of 5517 wagons per day, which was 395 wagons more than the last year, the spokesman said.
SECR said, in the month of October 2008 it had achieved the highest ever coal loading of 34.4 rakes per day at Korba. Prior to that, the previous best coal loading at Korba was 33.6 rakes per day in September 2008.
Similarly at IB, it had loaded 19.8 coal rakes per day which was the highest ever loading. Prior to that, the previous best was 19.3 coal rakes in the month of June 2008.
