Raipur, March 31, 2015: Chhattisgarh Government today said food grains to above poverty line (APL) families through the public distribution system would not be provided from April next.
The general family would not be eligible for any food grains from Targetted PDS, a Food Department notification said today.
Through the State Food Security Act 2015 food grains would be allotted to Targetted PDS beneficiaries.
As per the new rule, instead of family as a unit, individuals would be treated as a unit and per person seven kg of rice would be provided.
The government would provide 42 kg food grains to a family of six members and 70 kg to a family of having ten members.
