New Delhi, October 06, 2016: Central government today agreed to provide a special assistance of Rs 300 crore to Chhattisgarh for improvement of health services in the state.
After a detailed discussion here at New Delhi between union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda and Chhattisgarh Health Minister Ajay Chandrakar, it was agreed upon a central package of Rs 300 crore to the state to improve its health services and infrastructure, official sources said.
It was also decided to set up a state cancer institute at Bilaspur, besides other facilities at various other places of the state.
Nadda, who was previously party inchage of Chhattisgarh, said he was aware of the situation of the state and would provide all possible assistance to the state to improve its health infrastructure.
Nadda has also approved a proposal to set up a trauma centre at the Dhamtari district hospital.
Principal Secretary Health Subrat Sahoo, Director Health Services R Prasanna and Director National Rural Health Mission Saransh Mittar were also present in that meeting.
