Raipur, January 03, 2023: Main opposition BJP today raised the violent incident of the Narayanpur district in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh in the state assembly and demanded halt to religious conversion in the state.
BJP members attempted to raise the issue in the house after the question hour. Shiv Ratan Sharma alleged that the tribals were being subjected to attack in Narayanpur.
Senior BJP legislature Brij Mohan Agrawal raising the issue said Narayanpur was a major incident. Bastar was burning, he said and demanded house discussion on the issue.
However, members from the ruling Congress raised the pending Reservation Bill and created a noisy scene. Amid pandemonium the house was adjourned for 10 minutes.
When re-assembled the BJP members again raised the issue demanding discussion and then trooped into the well of the house raising slogans.
Amid din the house was adjourned for the day.
