Bilaspur, January 18, 2023: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today said the Rajiv Nyay Yojana is proved beneficial to the farmers of the state in increasing their income.
Addressing a function at the Belpaan village under Takhatpur assembly segment of Bilaspur district in Chhattisgarh, CM Baghel said previously farmers were burdened with loans.
Due to heavy burden of loans farmers were running away from cultivation, he said.
To rescue the farmers from the vicious circle of poverty and loan, the state government had within two hours of the formation of the government written off loans of the farmers.
Also to make the farmers and the labourers economically stronger the state government planned the Rajiv Nyay Yojana, the Chief Minister said.
Currently the intention of the state Congress government is to send money to the farmers and labourers through the Nyay Yojana, he said.
Because of the pro-farmer policy of the state government, both the numbers of farmers and cultivable lands have increased in the state, along with the productivity, the Chief Minister said.
To boost the economic condition of the farmers, the state government has so far procured over 100 lakh tons of paddy from the registered farmers, Baghel said.
