Raipur, August 18, 2024: High level teams from Raipur have raided as many as 18 liquor shops in Bilaspur district in Chhattisgarh after the state Excise Secretary received complaints of irregularities in those shops, officials said today.
Excise Secretary R Sangeetha on receiving complaint of mismanagement and irregularities in liquor shops of Bilaspur district, asked her Managing Director and other top level officials to raid those shops, a state government release said today.
The raids were conducted under the leadership of Managing Director of Chhattisgarh State Marketing Corporation Ltd, Shyam Dhawade.
In the review meeting on August 7, it was found that the Bilaspur district was lagging behind in revenue collection from sale of liquor.
During the raid it was found that the sale amount was not deposited in the bank on a regular basis every day, besides popular brands were missing from Bilaspur shops, and missing of guards in many shops and lack of hygiene was noticed and they had been asked to resolve all short comings without any delay.
All these shops have been sternly asked to strengthen their system without any delay, it said.
