Raipur, September 20, 2024: A large quantity of text books of the Chhattisgarh Government were found its place in scraps due to corrupt practices.
The text books were not for sale and meant for distributions among the students of the government school students of the state.
How the books reached to the scrap dealer officials are tightlipped.
After media took up the matter seriously, the state government has suspended a senior official.
“We are working on the zero tolerance policy towards corruption,” Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said.
On the news of selling text books to the scrap dealers, the Additional Chief Secretary was asked to conduct a probe, CM Sai said.
“Upon found prima facie the General Manager of the State Text Book Corporation Prem Prakash Sharma has been placed under suspension,” Through X Sai said.
Prem Prakash Sharma is a 2013 batch state administrative service officer.
The Chief Minister also warned the bureaucrats that the BJP government at the Centre would not tolerate dereliction of duty and they will be punished without any delay.
