     New Delhi, November 11, 2024: Justice Sanjiv Khanna was today took oath as the 51st Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India.

     President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath to Justice Khanna.

     Khanna is the 51st Chief Justice of India, who succeeded Justice Y V Chandrachud.

     “At a ceremony held today at 1000 AM in the Ganatantra Mandap, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Shri Justice Sanjiv Khanna was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India,” a Rashtrapati Bhavan press communique said.

    Justice Khanna made and subscribed to the oath of office before the President, it added.
