Raipur, November 12, 2024: On the initiative of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the strike of managers and employees of the Cooperative Societies of Chhattisgarh ended today.
With instruction of the Chief Minister the demand for salary increase, which was pending for the last 6 years, was fulfilled by the Registrar of Cooperative Societies within 24 hours.
With that the salary and allowances of the society employees have been increased by 25 per cent, official sources said.

Along with this, an inter-departmental committee is formed in relation to the other 2 demands.
For the first time since 2018, the salary and allowances of about 13 thousand employees of cooperative societies have been increased by 25 per cent, the sources said adding Chief Minister Sai himself took cognizance of the demands of the employees and directed the departmental officers to resolve them without any delay.
In this regard, a discussion was held with the departmental officers on November 10 in front of Chief Minister Sai regarding the demands of the employees of the cooperative societies.
In compliance with the instructions of the Chief Minister, orders were issued by the Commissioner of Cooperative Department on November 11 to amend the Cooperative Society Employees Service Rules. With this, a 25 per cent increase in the salary and allowances of the employees of the societies have been approved, they added.
The employees have expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister Sai for resolving the demands of the employees of the cooperative societies with all sensitivity.
With this the employees have returned to work in their respective societies and have started making proper arrangements for the paddy procurement which will start from November 14.
The employees have also assured that the farmers will not face any kind of difficulty during paddy procurement and all necessary preparations will be completed by tomorrow.
Commissioner Cooperative and Registrar Cooperative Societies Kuldeep Sharma has given instructions to all the departmental employees-officers to make paddy procurement with complete transparency.
He has also given instructions to the officials for continuous inspection and supervision of the centers during paddy procurement.
