Kanker, November 21, 2024: National Scheduled Tribes Commission Chairman Antar Singh Arya has reviewed the schemes being implemented for the welfare and development of Scheduled Tribes in the district.

Arya took a meeting of district level officials and inquired about the reach of schemes to the beneficiaries of Scheduled Tribe category in Kanker district.
He asked for details agenda wise and scheme wise from departmental officers.
In the meeting held yesterday, National Commission Chairman Arya said that the Commission reviews all the policies related to Scheduled Tribes or affecting them and examines all aspects of tribal welfare.

Keeping in view the all-round development of Scheduled Tribes, he directed all the officers to implement the beneficiary-oriented ambitious schemes of the Central Government with all seriousness.
On this occasion, Deputy Director of the Commission Rakesh Kumar Dubey took information about the progress of agenda-wise schemes wise development.
During this, the Collector informed the Commission all the schemes that are being run in the district for the welfare of Scheduled Tribes.
He said there are lot of scope for fish production and oil palm in the district and the administration is continuously making meaningful and continuous efforts in this direction.

The Collector requested the Chairman of the Commission to recommend additional allocation from the Center to accelerate the pace of development of the region.
In the review meeting, the progress of schemes related to Scheduled Tribes welfare being run in various departments including School Education Department, Women and Child Development, Panchayat and Rural Development, Tribal Development, Forest, Employment, Agriculture, Self-Employed, Social Welfare, Health, Revenue was reviewed.
DFO Alok Vajpayee, Private Secretary of the Commission Rajiv Saxena, Research Officer PK Das and District Panchayat CEO Harish Mandavi along with officials of the concerned departments were present in the meeting.
After the meeting, Chairman of ST Commission gave the message of environmental protection and promotion by planting a sapling in the District Panchayat premises under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’.
