Raipur, February 03, 2025: In Chhattisgarh, a record 149.25 lakh tons of paddy has been purchased by the state government in this Kharif season under the minimum support price (MSP).
Food department officials said that the record purchase of 149.25 lakh tons of paddy includes coarse paddy 81.98 lakh tons, fine paddy 10.75 lakh tons and Sarna paddy 56.52 lakh tons.

This is the highest record of paddy procurement in the state since the formation of Chhattisgarh.
The state government started Paddy procurement from November 14, 2024 and continued till January 31, 2025, under which 25 lakh 49 thousand 592 registered farmers of the state sold paddy.
In lieu of paddy purchase, Rs 31 thousand 89 crore has been paid to the farmers under the bank linking system.
Along with procurement, paddy is being lifted at a fast pace for custom milling, officials said.
So far, DO and TO have been issued for lifting of more than 123 lakh tons of paddy. Against which more than 103 lakh tons of paddy has already been lifted.
Paddy is being lifted continuously through registered 4102 rice millers.
Last year, 144.92 lakh tons of paddy was purchased.
