Raipur, February 19, 2025: Union Water Resources Minister CR Patil praised the efforts of the Chhattisgarh government and said that more than 2,29,000 water storage structures have been constructed in Chhattisgarh so far, which is enhancing water resources.

At the conference of State Water Ministers held in Udaipur, Rajasthan, Union Jal Shakti Minister Patil praised the efforts being made in Chhattisgarh with public participation for water conservation.
He said that Chhattisgarh is leading in the construction of water structures in the entire country and the state’s innovation models in the field of water conservation are exemplary for other states.

Central Minister Patil also mentioned that more than 2,29,000 water storage structures have been constructed in Chhattisgarh so far, which is enhancing water resources.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has said that it is a matter of pride for us that the work being done by the Chhattisgarh government for water conservation has been appreciated at the national level.

The policy of the Chhattisgarh government is focused on water conservation and sustainable development. The state government is continuously working to conserve natural resources and ensure water security for future generations, the Chief Minister added.
Chhattisgarh was represented in this national level conference by the state’s Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao and Water Resources Minister Kedar Kashyap.
Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao underlined the importance of schemes being run for water storage in the state, the impact of water structures and community participation.
He said that water conservation in Chhattisgarh is not limited to government efforts only, but it has taken the form of a mass movement, in which active participation of rural and urban citizens has been ensured.
Chhattisgarh Water Resources Minister Kedar Kashyap, in his address, elaborated on the targets set for increasing the irrigation capacity of Chhattisgarh and the construction of water storage structures.
He said that the state government has given priority to permanent structures, minor irrigation projects for water storage, which has improved the groundwater level and farmers are getting water for irrigation.

Union Jal Shakti Minister Patil lauded Chhattisgarh’s sustainable water management policy and community participation model and said that the state has emerged as a best practice model for the entire country.
He said that Chhattisgarh’s water structures are not just limited to water conservation but they are also strengthening the rural economy, agricultural production and water security.
Patil said that other states should take inspiration from Chhattisgarh’s water management model and give priority to water conservation in their policies.
The Union Minister also mentioned that the Central Government will provide all possible support to further strengthen the efforts being made by the Chhattisgarh Government.
