     Raipur, June 26, 2025: The final location survey (FLS) work of the proposed 160.33 km long new railway line from Kothagudem in Telangana to Kirandul in Chhattisgarh, passing through Naxal-affected districts like Sukma, Dantewada and Bijapur in Chhattisgarh, is now in its final stage.

     The development is now gaining momentum in one of the most challenging areas of the country – Bastar region. After getting approval from the central government, the final location survey (FLS) work of the proposed 160.33 km long new railway line from Kothagudem to Kirandul (Chhattisgarh) is now in its final stage, official sources said.

     This proposed railway line’s 138.51 km will pass through various areas of Naxal-affected districts like Sukma, Dantewada and Bijapur in Chhattisgarh, which have been deprived of rail connectivity till now.

     This project will not only make transportation easier, but will also bring revolutionary changes in the socio-economic development of these districts.

     The survey work is being done by the Railways through state-of-the-art lidar technology. This rail line project is being specially monitored by the Union Home Ministry, and it is considered extremely important from the point of view of internal security as well as regional development, the sources said.

     Indian Railways has expressed special gratitude to the Chhattisgarh government and Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, due to whose instructions and coordination this survey work could gain momentum again.

     This railway line is going to become a symbol of security, inclusion and prosperity for the Bastar region in the future.
