New Delhi, July 19, 2025: Famous singer and former minister in Punjab AAP government Anmol Gagan Maan today resigned from the MLA Kharar assembly constituency and said she is also quitting politics.
35-year-old singer-turned-politician, who won her maiden election from Kharar in 2022 with a margin of 37,885 votes, Anmol Gagan Maan has sent her resignation to the Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan, media reports said.
Maan has not given any reason for the resignation.

In a post in Punjabi on X Maan said her heart is heavy, but she has decided to leave politics. Her resignation from the post of MLA to the Speaker should be accepted. She send best wishes to the party and hoped the Punjab government will live up to the expectations of the people
Last week Maan had a meeting with AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal. In a post on X she said they has an in-depth discussion on various key issues.
In July 2022 Maan was made a Cabinet Minister with tourism and culture affairs, investment promotion and labour.
However, in September 2024, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann dropped four ministers, including her, from the Cabinet.
