Raipur, December 31, 2025: The new year 2026 is set to begin with a historic achievement for Bhoramdev, a renowned religious and historical tourist destination in Chhattisgarh.
The foundation stone for the ‘Bhoramdev Corridor Development Project’, to be constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 146 crore, will be laid tomorrow, January 1st.
This ambitious project has been approved under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme 2.0 of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. It is considered the largest central tourism project in Chhattisgarh to date.
The foundation stone for this project will be laid on January 1st by the Union Minister of Tourism and Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, in the presence of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai.

The programme will be attended by Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Dr. Raman Singh, Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Sharma and Arun Sao, Minister of Tourism and Culture Rajesh Agrawal, Minister of Industries Lakhanlal Dewangan, Rajnandgaon MP Santosh Pandey, Chairperson of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Nilu Sharma, along with MLAs, chairpersons of corporations and commissions, and local public representatives.
The Bhoramdev temple, famous as the ‘Khajuraho of Chhattisgarh’, is renowned nationally and internationally for its ancient architecture and religious significance. The development of this corridor will provide modern facilities to devotees and tourists, giving a new impetus to the economic, social, and cultural development of the region.
Recently, chemical conservation work on the temple has also been completed, ensuring the long-term preservation of this heritage site.
Under the project, facilities such as entrance gates, plazas, museums, beautification of the temple complex, parks, bridges, lighting, drinking water, toilets, cafeterias, food courts, boating, and water sports will be developed at the main temple complex, pond area, Madwa Mahal, Cherki Mahal, Ramchua temple, Shiv Plaza, mela ground, and Sarodha Dam.
This project is expected to lead to a significant increase in the number of tourists, as well as create new employment and self-employment opportunities for local youth. It is expected that the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Bhoramdev Corridor will be recorded as a golden chapter in the tourism history of Chhattisgarh.
