Raipur, May 6, 2026: The nomination process for the prestigious Padma Awards—Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri—to be conferred by the Government of India on the occasion of Republic Day 2027, commenced on March 15, 2026.
The administration has appealed to citizens to identify deserving and inspiring personalities within their communities and assist in securing national-level recognition for them.
The government has urged the general public to nominate those unsung and hitherto unrecognized heroes of society who are selflessly performing outstanding work across various fields.

The government’s objective is to utilize these awards to identify talented individuals from remote forest regions, as well as rural and urban areas, who have made significant contributions in fields such as social service, arts, education, sports, medicine, science, and engineering.
Furthermore, officials have been directed to identify exceptional talents within their respective jurisdictions. Particular emphasis has been placed on prioritizing women, individuals belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, persons with disabilities, and those working in remote and inaccessible regions.
Individual nominations will be accepted exclusively through the online mode; for this purpose, the Government of India’s National Awards Portal (https://awards.gov.in/) has been designated.
Nomination proposals for eligible individuals—accompanied by recommendations—must be mandatorily forwarded to the concerned departments via the District Collector by July 15, 2026.
The government has instructed all concerned officials to take the necessary measures to ensure strict adherence to this deadline.
